Another viewer. WTH!
--------------------
I bought a CyberVision and wanted to see my favorite pictures on a
True-Color screen. Unfortunately, all my viewer programs didn't work so
good as they did on AGA. V was born.
My goal was to reach the following:
FREE.
FAST.
FRIENDLY.
100% C
Shell & Workbench
------------
Installation
------------
Unpack V_main.lha and V_Mod###.lha in the same drawer.
It should look like:
V_modules (dir)
V V.doc
V.history V.info
V_Main.readme V_Mod###.readme
(###=020, 040, 060, PPC)

Shell commands
--------------
Execute V ? or V -HELP
V has been developped to fit best under a graphic card environnement but it
can be used on AGA machines (Kick 3.x required). It uses by default the
workbench screen but is able to open its own screen with the argument:
-SCREEN=[WIDTH]x[HEIGHT]x[DEPTH] (eg: -SCREEN=800x600x16).
V has its own private BestMode function to fit your wished screen.
or
-PUBNAME=MyScreen
to open on another public screen.
In case of a too big picture, V has not only the ability to scroll it using
the gadgets. It can scroll the picture simply by clicking directly on it
and move the mouse. (OPAQUE MOVE a la ArtEffect)
V closes the window with the usual way and with the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON too.
V moves ALL the window contents with the MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON.
If you are on a TRUE COLOR screen, you can correct the gamma using the +
and - keys. (experimental)
MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW
MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW
MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW MULTIWINDOW
V is multiwindow. It means you can enter the following arguments:
V DH3:mypics
OR
V DH3:mypics/
OR
V DH3:mypics/#?.tif
OR
V DH3:mypics/~(#?.jpg|#?.iff)
-RECURSIVE enable recursive mode :)
Warning!! the amount of memory can get low very fast. You'll perhaps have
'crashed' pictures, but as soon as you resize them, everything will become
ok again.
The -MAXWIN option limits the amount of pictures displayed at a time:
V DH3:#? -MAXWIN
The -SYNC option should be used if you only want to see one picture at a
time.
V DH3:#? -SYNC
The -DITHER option enables Floyd Steinberg dithering (slower).
The -APPICON option transforms V into an AppIcon task. :) Double click on
the icon to remove V.
The -INVERTMOUSE options invert the Opaque Move scroll direction.
-------------------
Workbench tooltypes
-------------------
(V doesn't use the tooltypes if it has been executed from shell)
DITHER_IF_8BITS_SCREEN same as -DITHER
LIMIT_WINDOWS_NUMBER same as -MAXWIN
NO_MULTIWINDOWS same as -SYNC
RANDOM_OPEN same as -RANDOM
RECURSIVE same as -RECUR
SCREEN=... same as -SCREEN= and -PUBNAME=
APPICON same as -APPICON
INVERT_MOUSE same as -INVERTMOUSE
------------
Keys control
------------
[,] Change GAMMA if a True-Color screen is used.
+,*,- Scale the picture if a True-Color screen is used.
Using V in a multi window mode enables the following possibilities with the
keyboard:
Q(Quit) Closes all the windows.
C(Clear) Closes the already loaded pictures windows.
K(Keep) Closes all the windows, but not the one that's selected.
R(ReOrg) Reorgs the windows.
L(List) Reorgs the windows too.
D(Drop) Closes the active window.
------------
What V needs
------------
Kick 3.0 and a 68020.
THAT'S ALL.
A gfx card is welcome. A math processor too.
------------------------
What V uses if installed
------------------------
Kick 3.1
Reqtools.library
CyberGFX
Picasso
Akiko
---------------
What V won't do
---------------
Use any ALIEN library.
Use datatypes.

Ideas welcome!
